Before that, he coached running backs at Alabama under Nick Saban and at Penn State, where he helped develop Saquon Barkley. The Class of 2027 is taking shape. Three offensive linemen in a nine-man class. Huff is building from the trenches. Bryson Sanderson (IOL, 6-5, 305, Oxford, Ala.) is the highest-graded commit at 76.26 with 24 offers including Auburn, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Kentucky and Ole Miss. His PRO score of 0.842 is the best in the class. Gage Luther (OT, 6-6, 285, Pontotoc, Miss.) has 19 offers including Arkansas, Colorado, Maryland and Virginia Tech. Jonathan Toney (OT, 6-6, 280, Dublin, Ga.) matches Luther's offer count at 19 with Florida State and Kansas State on his list.

Tyi Duncan (DT, 6-3, 345, Brentwood, Tenn.) is the headliner on the defensive side. At 345 pounds, Duncan holds offers from Michigan, Oklahoma, Kentucky and Vanderbilt. He committed June 24. Aubrey Johnson (WR, 6-1, 170, Houston, Texas) flipped from Florida Atlantic on June 14 — the only decommit in the class. He has 16 offers including Miami and Texas Tech.

Four of nine commits are from Tennessee. Two from Georgia. One each from Alabama, Mississippi and Texas. Huff is mining the Mid-South and keeping his footprint tight around Memphis.

Ethan Tisdale (QB, 6-1, 180, Franklin, Ga.) is the lone quarterback with 14 offers including Cincinnati and Wake Forest. Joshua Lane (DE, 6-3, 240, Memphis, Tenn.) is from Memphis Central — a local product who chose to stay home. The back end has two safeties: Malik Dean Jr. (6-3, 180, Germantown, Tenn.) and Bradley Stamper (6-3, 175, Jackson, Tenn.), both from Tennessee with length at 6-3.

Nine commits in 33 days. The board is still early. The Class of 2027 will grow.
